To be eligible for a grant you need to complete your ADS-B installation, undertake a flight to allow Airways to detect your acceptable ADS-B transmission, and submit a claim before 30th June 2023.
If you have already claimed for ADS-B OUT, you can still install and claim for an ADS-B IN if you have recently upgraded. Do not forget - as of 31st December 2022, it was mandatory for all aircraft entering controlled airspace to be ADS-B equipped and transmitting acceptable ADS-B data.
To submit an application, please see here(external link). Once you have submitted an application, please make sure to also submit a claim form. Remember there are two steps:
- Apply using the purple form.
- Claim using the green form (the link is in the "application accepted" email).
If you have any general inquiries about ADS-B and the application process, please email adsb.grants@caa.govt.nz, and for any technical inquiries, please email adsb@caa.govt.nz
As of 1st April 2023, 2062 ADS-B Grant Scheme claims have been paid out (803 OUT, 191 IN, and 1068 Combined), equalling a total of approximately $5.98M (inclusive of GST).
